Obam vs Mccain

I have been really interested in the American presidential race, some people would ask "why, is it any of your business". I ask myself the same since I am not American but I am always keen to shrug off those questions with a comparison: "I watch American T.V. , listen their music might as well observe their politics".

My preferred candidate is Barrack Obama of course (duh right?), I mean he is the logical choice, well for me at least. Sometimes its amazing how things like race, gender or social class can influence the masses judgment. In a country that have been mismanaged by the current Bush regime, its baffling people still feel compelled to stay to the policies that the Bush regime carried throughout its eight year tenure. The war in Iraq for instance which cost America 10 billion dollars per month seems or is so wasteful. Its strange how people put so much resources into war and strife that is never equaled in finding peace or help to other human beings but that is another discussion for another time.

Obama's opponent a war hero and former Prisoner of War, Senator John McCain, a honorable man has lately looked less noble and magnanimous and seem so desperate to win that he his willing to do or say anything. Amid wild assumptions of Senator Obama's religious orientation and political agenda he has not seek to clear the air with any determination. Coupled with his practice of spinning the truth as he does in recent debates really undermines his honor. He also intends to continue the war in Iraq which right now given America's financial situation they hardly seem to be able to afford, I mean being 55 trillion dollars in debt and all.

Obama's proposed policies all seem to make sense: he plans to end the war, give bigger tax cuts to the less wealthy; (rather than give it to wealthy co operations as Mr. McCain's wishes) he also intends to tackle global warming which many have neglected to realize its importance as an issue. I am a black man and it would seem as if my support for Obama would be in a sense "birds of a feather" but I am not such a tribal person and that would oppose what I stand for which is equality. I probably am getting too caught up in the affairs of other nations and should probably mind my own country's business although we Jamaicans cannot not pay attention to America because as they say if they sneeze we catch a cold.

Right now I am at work, which I am just starting so my mind is somewhere else thus the boring nature of my Blog. I hope I will overcome new job feeling and find some interesting things to post in the future.....bye for now (assuming you haven't fallen asleep already).
